anyone heard of wecosign inc? is it a good company to invest in?

Q: they help people with poor credit and cosign for them to get into the apartment of their choice.

A: I would say it is questionable if it is a good investment. Bear in mind that this is not a charithy, it is a business. They charge a monthly fee for being a cosigner to renting an apartment to individuals and families. Here are some things I've come across. * On their website, they say that they are affiliated with the Better Business Bueau. Although their record is clean with the BBB, they are not accredited with that organization. * The are not known on the stock markets that I checked and they are not registered with the SEC. If they are a corporation, it is probably in name only with just a few shareholders. If you look at what they do, an investment here would be a gamble on what the local economy is going to do. If the economy stagnates or gets worse, or their clients lose their jobs, the company, being a cosigner, would be obligated in paying the monthly rent for a client in trouble. This can only go on for so long as the company can only raise their price to such a point, the clients cannot afford it. The company would be legally responsible for any defaults. I did not see any plan for them to recover their money and doubt if they could. If the economy gets better, then there are fewer defaults and more job security BUT, there is less need for such a program. In either case, they eventually could go out of business plus by design, the customer relationship terminates after 12 months. The only case where they can do reasonably well is if the economy improves slightly where it is less likely that people will lose their jobs.
