Q: I was thinking a fast food restraunt. I'm 13 turning 14 in 6 months. I need money :P Thanks in advance for your answers. ^_^
A: This is all facts off a government website:: Minimum age you can start work in industries other than the entertainment industry The general minimum age is 13 years for children starting work, although children from 11 years of age may perform delivery work including for items such as newspapers and advertising leaflets. Parental consent is required for school-aged and young children to work. Children are not allowed to work when they should be at school (hours). Maximum allowable hours of work for school-aged and young children is 4 hours shifts a day. Any fast food places, McDonald's, Hunger Jacks, KFC etc - they all take on casual younger kids as staff. - Just walk in and ask ! I know where I am in Qld, The Warehouse. (sorry now called Sam's Warehouse) they take on 13 years onwards. It really depends if there is one near where you live, at your age you don't want to be travelling far distances to a work place. Have you tried your local stores, corner shops, smaller takeaways shops, IGA etc... A great website that explains it all is http://www.wageline.qld.gov.au/youngworkersrights/starting_work.html and http://www.thesource.gov.au A great site based for young people. 12 - 25 yrs old. Well worth the read - especially on your first job. Good Luck - there's nothing like having your first job and money coming in! :-)
