Q: should school children in uniform be allowed to peruse the stores of a mall? if not why?
A: I have to wear a school uniform for my school. Afterschool a lot of kids immediately go across the street of the school to McDonald's or other fast food restaurants when they are still in uniform. Ofcourse the restaurants accept any customers they can get no matter what kind of clothing they are wearing, so I think that would be the same if these students go to the mall. Usually though if we students want to go to the mall we bring a change of clothes because uniforms are "uncool" to wear when we're not in school. So there is nothing stopping the students to go to the mall while in uniform, but I can see where there would be a concern. Every other person at the mall knows that these kids are from that school, so these students are representing their school whether they want to or not. So these kids might not act responsible and respecting like they should if they were on a field trip or school activity where they must be on their best behavior to represent their school. Also if other people at the mall see them in uniforms and know what school they are and don't like that school, then they could be discriminated or possibly in danger by those who hater that school. I guess my answer is that it would be best that these kids don't go around to the mall or public place in their uniforms, but they own those clothes and are free to do that so it can't be stopped.
