Q: Also, does anyone know how it works? I've been trying to figure it out for a long time. Thanks! I'd Google it, but it's hard to figure out how it works when you don't even know what it's called in the first place. Thanks for all your answers. I have one question to add: Why is it that when you press the carbon paper against regular white printer paper, the carbon doesn't rub off on it?
A: There are two kinds Carbon paper and Carbonless copy paper It works because it consists of sheets of paper that are coated on the bottom and/or the top with micro-encapsulated dye or ink and/or a reactive clay. These ink or clay is pressed down against and sticks to the paper underneath it, leaving the same impressions as the pen above. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbonless_copy_paper
