Q: i know u can get gift cards but i want to shop on ebay without doin paypal or using my credit card. the highest i have seen are $100. or can i add money to that and use it as a credit card. Im confused
A: You can buy pre-paid Visa and MasterCards at lots of places. I know that Rite-Aid drugstores sell them, so yes, Walgreens probably does as well. You pay a fee on top of the amount of the card, and yes, you can then add as much value as you want. Unfortunately, most of them charge a fee for each time you add money, which drives me crazy, but if it works for you, go for it. Here is a list of some of the prepaid cards available: http://www.credit.com/products/credit_cards/debit.jsp If you have a bank account, one option that might work better for you is to set up a separate account at the bank, tied to a debit card. You put only the money you want in that account, and then you can give out the debit card number. The big advantage of this system is that you don't have to pay any fees to make deposits or to set up the account. Some banks in my area try to charge for accounts.
