A: Keep in mind that security jobs, even in hotels, can be pretty boring and expect to work a lot of nights, weekends and holidays for so-so pay. But, if you want to get into the field consider a hotel where you can learn the ropes. I used to work at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown, the largest and one of the busiest in SD and it's a great place to get your foot in the door and get some good experience. I still know the folks there and they're hiring security now, drop me a line if you want a referral.
